The Days of New experiment is changing my brain. I find that I am looking at and perceiving the world differently. My mind is becoming much more in tuned to the multifaceted environment around me. I seem to be constantly scanning my environment. It is no longer as flat and two dimensional, but now full of new opportunities to explore and new activities to become engaged in. I find myself gradually becoming more interested in the world around me. I know longer seem to dread the new activity of the day, but look forward to them much more. And I am constantly on the lookout for new places to explore and new activities to try. Little by little, my static world is beginning to dynamically unfold all around me. Work is still as frustrating as ever, but lately I feel that there is a lot more to focus on besides that mess.
It seems everywhere I go my mind is tuned in to new situations for me to explore. Yesterday I saw a restaurant called “Smashburger” as I was driving and I thought “Maybe I should check that place out for lunch someday.” Today I was tired of work, and looking to get away. So I decided to go to Smashburger. I got their self titled smashburger and some fries, and a sweetened green tea drink. It was gorgeous outside, so I went and sat in the outdoor area, but quickly found that I was then locked out of the restaurant. I had to leave the area and go around to the front to reenter the building, so I decided to suck it up and sit inside. The burger was pretty good so I have no complaints there, and I will keep this place in my head as a new lunch option during the work day. This was a simple activity, but it gave me a reason to leave my work desk, and my universe is slightly bigger because of it.
