Today is Wednesday and I regret to say that aside from a few fleeting moments, I haven’t seen much of the Sun in the sky since early Sunday morning. Today was another cold and extremely windy day, and the dark gloomy clouds seem to have taken up permanent residence in the skies above us. In fact, I was told that there were even snow flakes coming down during lunch today. I was too busy working to get out and see this horrific occurrence for myself, though perhaps that is a good thing. It is hard to believe that it was in the seventies just a few days earlier, but I shouldn’t be surprised by the unstable midwest weather by this point in my life. However, I decided today was not worth spending another day outside.
I was originally going to look for a place to play pool today after work. However, first I got lost trying to find the place. Then when I finally found it, I got a sudden weird vibe that I couldn’t seem to ignore. I ended listening to my instinct and not going to the place. On my way out of there though, I passed a place called MontriThai. I like Thai food, and I realized I had worked right through lunch, so this seemed like a perfect place.
The scent of soothing incense hit me the instant I walked through the door. I noticed the calming pink painted walls and the ornate decorations that hung from them. There were some bells ringing in a back room which were signaling to the host that a new customer had just walked it, but other than that the restaurant was totally empty. Not surprising, 4:15PM is not the busiest time for restaurants. A moment later a lady came in and seated me. She seemed very rushed, I honestly felt very rushed by her the whole time. She also said maybe 3 words to me However, it was nice that everything was fast as I didn’t want a long drawn out experience anyway. I ended up getting the Garlic Chicken. It came with white rice and a lot of vegetables, and I could taste ginger in it as well. The food was amazing, way better than I had anticipated! I could have eaten twice as much. Pretty awesome find!
