Today was a beautiful Saturday. The weather was sunny, warm, and generally wonderful. It was nice to relax at home, but I felt that I would not be doing the day justice if I didn’t spend some time out in nature today. So I found McKee’s Marsh, not too far away from me, and decided to make a trip over there to explore it.
I didn’t manage to go until the late afternoon, as the sun was sinking low towards the horizon. By the time I finally got there, the warm sunny weather was becoming a bit windy and cold. But despite this, it was still beautiful out, and I was thankful to spend some time walking around outside.
In retrospect, I wish I had budgeted more
time for this place. There was one main trail, that circled all the way around McKee’s marsh. It was a fun little journey to take. There were plenty of other people on there walking and exploring the area. At one point I even saw a woman on a horse. There were a few docks where I
could stand and enjoy a nice view of the water. There were a few little trails as well, interesting ones that disappeared into the woods. These were the ones that I was most curious about, but I didn’t have enough daylight to really get lost in those today. So I continued to travel along, and eventually made a wrong turn somewhere. The trail dumped me out onto the busy road. Dusk was fast approaching by this point, so I walked down the busy road to my car and reached there just in time for sunset. A pretty good Day 15, and the unexplored trails give me a good reason to return there someday!
